First On The Scene
This course is a combination CPR/AED/Basic first aid course.
This course is a combination CPR/AED/Basic first aid course that deals with the most common causes of mortality and morbidity that can be addressed outside of a professional healthcare setting. This course is approximately 4 hours in length. First on the Scene (FOTS), developed by NAEMT and the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC), provides instructions to teach the general public basic emergency response to life-threatening emergencies until EMS arrives on the scene. Through lesson presentations and hands-on skill stations, participants will learn how to access help in the event of a life-threatening emergency and what to do until EMS arrives.
Our educational partners at Central Private are prepared for anything now!
"Today our faculty and staff completed the Stop the Bleed course offered by the St. George Firefighters Foundation. The purpose of this course is to help our teachers recognize life-threatening bleeding and intervene before the arrival of first-responders. The St. George Firefighters Foundation also provided each of our teachers with an emergency bleeding kit for their classrooms and a kit for each front office. Thank you to the St. George Firefighters Foundation for offering this training!"
